Life Insurance: "Cost of Insurance" overcharges in Variable Life, Universal Life, and Whole Life policies
We are currently investigating potential claims against life insurance companies for "Cost of Insurance" overcharges in connection with life insurance polices which contain an investment, interest bearing, or savings component in addition to a death benefit. These types of policies are generally referred to as Universal Life Insurance, Variable Universal Life Insurance, Equity-Indexed or Indexed Universal Life Insurance, and Whole Life Insurance. These types of policies may also be referred to as "Flexible Premium Life Insurance." Guaranteed level term life insurance policies without a disclosed "Cost of Insurance" component in the policy are not the focus of our investigation.
These overcharges for Cost of Insurance can be several thousand dollars, depending on the amount of insurance you own and the length of time you have held the policies. We would like to hear from you if you have these types of policies with any company, including the following:
Northwestern Mutual Pacific Life Insurance
Genworth Financial MetLife
New York Life TIAA-CREF
Transamerica Insurance and Investment Group AFLAC
